Product Strategy Scorecard
Is your strategy a set of real choices, or a wish list? Tick what is true of your document, and get a score and the gaps to fix first.
What good looks like
A strategy has three parts: a diagnosis that names the real problem, a guiding policy that says how you will deal with it, and coherent actions that carry it out. The test that matters most is whether a smart competitor could reasonably choose the opposite. If nobody would, you have written a value, not a strategy. Be honest when you tick the boxes: a box is only true if you could point to the place in the document.
Each gap points to the post that explains how to close it. The method as a whole is in how to write a product strategy that actually gets implemented, the boundary between the three documents is in product strategy vs roadmap vs vision, and the case for each bet is covered in how to build a business case. If a decision is stuck, product strategy consulting explains when outside help is worth it, and the RICE prioritizer helps rank the actions once the strategy is set.
