Privacy policy and cookies

The short version

I do not sell your data. I do not rent it, trade it or share it with advertisers or data brokers, and this site shows no advertising. I collect only what is needed to answer your messages, send the notes you ask for, and understand which pages are read. Analytics cookies are off until you accept them.

Who is responsible

This site, deepanshugrover.com, is run by Deepanshu Grover, based in Paris, France. I am the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach me at deepanshugroverfr@gmail.com or through the contact page.

What I collect, and why

Messages you send through the contact form

When you use the contact form I receive your name, email address, company (if you add one) and your message. I use them to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering people who write to me and, where you are asking about working together, steps taken at your request before a possible agreement.

Newsletter sign-ups

If you subscribe, I store your email address and the page you signed up on. I use it to send occasional notes on product, strategy, growth and AI. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing me, after which I delete your address from the list.

Technical data sent with forms

When you submit the contact form or subscribe, I also store your IP address and browser details (the user agent) with the entry. This is only to detect spam and abuse, and it is part of the same record, so it is deleted when the record is.

Analytics, only with your consent

With your consent, I use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and whether they use the contact form or click my LinkedIn, email or other links. This includes approximate location, device and browser, pages viewed, and time on page. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The events I record never include your name, email address or anything you type into a form. If you refuse, or ignore the banner, analytics cookies are not set. The legal basis is your consent.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard technical logs such as IP address, requested page and time, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Cookies and local storage

  • Analytics cookies, only if you accept: _ga and _ga_<ID>, set by Google Analytics to tell visits apart. They last up to two years.
  • Your cookie choice: stored in your browser's local storage (dg_consent and dg_consent_ts) so the banner does not ask you again. It is not sent anywhere, and I ask again after six months.
  • Nothing else: no advertising cookies and no third-party fonts. The tools on this site run entirely in your browser, and what you type into them is not sent anywhere.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. Refusing deletes the analytics cookies that are already set.

Who I share data with

I do not sell personal data. The only organizations that process it on my behalf are:

  • Google, for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (only with your consent).
  • Vercel, for hosting the site.
  • Neon, for the database that stores contact messages and newsletter sign-ups.

They act under their own data protection terms. I do not share your information with anyone else, except if the law requires it.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

These providers may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens, I rely on the safeguards the law provides for, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep data

  • Contact messages: only as long as needed to reply and keep a record of the conversation. I delete them on request.
  • Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.
  • Analytics data: 14 months, then it is removed automatically.
  • Your cookie choice: six months, then I ask again.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time. Email me at deepanshugroverfr@gmail.com and I will reply within one month. If you think I have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or to your local authority.

Changes

If I change how the site handles data, I will update this page and its date. I do not ask you to provide any personal information beyond what is described here.
